This year’s Congress’s theme is “Going Back To Our Roots” and that is certainly what it will feel like when you land in our host city, Gqeberha!

Formerly known as Port Elizabeth, this South African coastal city is also known as “The Friendly City” and with good reason. Here you will find residents who are eager to share their everyday life experiences with visitors to their hometown.

Founded in 1820 and known then as Port Elizabeth, Gqeberha is the sixth most populous city in South Africa. Gqeberha forms part of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.

The weather in August sees temperatures between 20 and 36 degrees celsius so please pack accordingly.

How do I get around?

Car rentals are available at the Gqeberha airport (Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport) and ride hailing services such as Uber are also available.
